During your first consultation a full case history is taken.
As well as asking details about your principle disorder we will want to know something of your past medical history. To enable physical examination, removal of outer garments of clothing is usual, (a gown is provided and/or you can bring shorts) and the chiropractor will carefully examine the area which is giving you trouble and any other areas considered to be relevant.
For example, it is common for the neck and upper back to be affected by a shoulder complaint, or poor foot function to affect overall posture.
The examination will vary according to your particular condition and if necessary, x-rays will be taken. Just as faces look different, so do spines and the x-ray will assist in excluding abnormalities, fractures, bone diseases, etc.
Signs of osteoarthritis or wear and tear will show up on the x-ray.
The purpose of this first visit will be to diagnose your condition so that we can explore ways of improving your health.
At all times your personal and/or religious beliefs are held in high regard and taken into account during all interactions.
