What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. It emphasises manual adjustments and other techniques to alleviate pain, improve function, and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Chiropractic uses a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility, including hands-on manipulation of the spine. As well as manual treatment, chiropractors are able to offer a package of care which includes advice on self-help, therapeutic exercises and lifestyle changes.
Chiropractic treatment involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. Apart from manipulation, chiropractors may use a variety of techniques including ice, heat, exercise and acupuncture as well as advice about posture and lifestyle.

When you see a chiropractor for the first time, they will do a detailed assessment of your health. You will be asked for information about your current condition, about your medical history and overall health.
Chiropractors are Primary Healthcare Professionals; they undergo a 4 to 5yr full-time degree and are statutorily regulated by the GCC.

It is important that you talk to your chiropractor if you feel worried about anything either during or after treatment.
